Description

Contains operation (TG SDS 4.7.2.1)

A harmonised spatial data service shall have well documented interfaces and list the end points for each operation to enable machine to machine communication. The metadata element describing the harmonised spatial data service therefore shall contain either list the containsOperations elements in the [ISO19139] file or the capabilities document of the service, which maybe returned on the Get Harmonised Spatial Data Service Metadata request, or on the WSDL document.

Two ways are proposed to fulfil the Implementation Requirement 15:

? Provide the [ISO 19119] containsOperation with all the information needed;

The containsOperation can describe the service’s operation and its parameters in a generic way. In fact the SV_OperationMetadata has a standard set of elements which, in some cases, cannot fully describe all the characteristics of a specific spatial data service. For example, using the SV_Parameter, it is difficult to provide complex parameter type through the SV_Parameter element.

? Provide a WSDL : a complete WSDL example is provided in Annex D.

Actions:

  1. Update TG MD X.Y.Z  contains operation
  2. Give examples, explain condition ...

COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 1312/2014 of 10 December 2014 amending Regulation (EU) No 1089/2010 implementing Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards interoperability of spatial data services

"The invocation metadata element documents the interfaces of the harmonised spatial data service and lists the end points to enable machine-to machine communication."

"38. "interface" means the named set of operations that characterise the behaviour of an entity as defined by ISO 19119:2005."

In the attachment the ISO 19119  the service operation elements, which can be used tu fullfill this requirement. We need to decide which of the optional elements are needed.

In our metadata profile we considered the mandatory elements operationName, DCP and connectPoint only. We never missed any of the other elements.

if there are no other suggestions, i propose only to describe the mandatory elements in the TG
