Description

Good morning Geoportal Team,

In the field "<AuthorityURL name="____">" of our WMS , what should we insert (http://wssig3.azores.gov.pt/geoserver/ps/wms?service=wms&version=1.3.0&request=GetCapabilities?

For now, in our WMS we've configured this way:

<AuthorityURL name="DRA">

<OnlineResource xlink:type="simple" xlink:href="http://www.azores.gov.pt/Portal/pt/entidades/sreat-dra"/>
</AuthorityURL>
<Identifier authority="DRA">
</Identifier>

But the "AuthorityURL name" is just the initials of our governmental name and the "OnlineResource xlink" is just a link for our governmental page and we don't know if this is correct...

Thank you!

Dear Vanda,

I have just been working on the same issue and would like to share with you my understanding of how to encode the dataset codeSpace and code within a layer definition which is portraying its content.

TG says:

Implementation Requirement 38 To be able to map the concept of a responsible body/codeSpace and local identifier/code to [ISO 19128]), AuthorityURL and Identifier elements shall be used. The authority name and explanatory URL shall be defined in a separate AuthorityURL element, which may be defined once and inherited by subsidiary layers. Identifiers themselves are not inherited.

I understand and encoded it in the following way:

<AuthorityURL name="https://data.gov.sk/set/rpi/dat/42181810/">
<OnlineResource xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:type="simple" xlink:href="http://www.sazp.sk"/>
</AuthorityURL>
<Identifier authority="https://data.gov.sk/set/rpi/dat/42181810/">https://data.gov.sk/set/rpi/dat/42181810/4F25093329432CA2E0530210000A0ECD
</Identifier>
<MetadataURL type="ISO19115:2003">
<Format>application/xml</Format>
<OnlineResource xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:type="simple" xlink:href="https://rpi.gov.sk/rpi_csw/service.svc/get?request=GetRecordById&service=CSW&version=2.0.2&elementSetName=full&outputschema=http://www.isotc211.org/2005/gmd&Id=https://data.gov.sk/set/rpi/gmd/42181810/4F25093329432CA2E0530210000A0ECD"/>
</MetadataURL>

AuthorityURL name attribute has a value of a dataset identifier codeSpace and Indentifier for this code space (authority) has a value of dataset code, which can be extracted, and thus linked from the dataset metadata which is reference by resolvable url in MetadataURL hred attribure:

<gmd:identifier>
<gmd:RS_Identifier>
<gmd:code>
</gmd:code>
<gmd:codeSpace>
<gco:CharacterString>https://data.gov.sk/set/rpi/dat/42181810/</gco:CharacterString>
</gmd:codeSpace>
</gmd:RS_Identifier>
</gmd:identifier>

Hope this solution is correct and can help you, obviously any feedback form the INSPIRE Geoportal Team is more than welcomed!
Tomas

Dear Vanda,

your WMS configuration is correct.

The two WMS elements, wms:Identifier + wms:AuthorityURL, are used to map the “Unique Resource Identifier” of the dataset.

So, in order to link the WMS layer with the relevant dataset, the “Unique Resource Identifier” in the dataset metadata should be encoded as follow:

<gmd:identifier>

     <gmd:RS_Identifier>

<gmd:code>

<gco:CharacterString>

http://id.igeo.pt/sdg/67868be6-1a52-4467-ac2d-519d629a161f</gco:CharacterString>

</gmd:code>

<gmd:codeSpace>

<gco:CharacterString>http://www.azores.gov.pt/Portal/pt/entidades/sreat-dra</gco:CharacterString>

</gmd:codeSpace>

     </gmd:RS_Identifier>

</gmd:identifier>

It seems that the encoding used by Tomas also works fine.

In any case, you can verify the “link” between services and dataset using the Resource linkages checker tool.

Best regards,

The JRC Geoportal Team
