Dear MIWP-6 members,
We are gathering feedbacks, comments and suggestion for the future versions of the Re3gistry software.
We would like to ask for your help in order to proceed with the right choices for the feature to be included in the next releases.
Whether you are experienced on the Re3gistry software or not, you can give your helpful suggestions.
Please fill our quick survey at http://europa.eu/!Bn84Ct
It would be great if you could also help us in spreading this survey by passing on the information to other people in your networks, working (or planning to work) with registers.
Thank you in advance,
The JRC Re3gistry team
We are happy to announce that release 6.3 of the INSPIRE registry service has been published at http://inspire.ec.europa.eu/registry
The changelog related to this version is available here: https://ies-svn.jrc.ec.europa.eu/projects/registry-development/wiki/service_R6-3_documentation#2-Version-details
We are happy to announce release 1.2 of the Re3gistry software!
This new version contains several improvements and new features, some of which are based on feedback received from users of earlier versions of the software. The most important improvements and new features are:
- We have updated the documentation to make the Re3gistry easier to install, configure and customise. This release now also contains two complete sets of examples: One that allows to replicate a "registry service" similar to the INSPIRE registry service (with some example data) and an additional example that contains more generic data and a neutral web interface that can be easily customized.
- Following user feedback, the Re3gistry now also supports a new authentication method in addition to ECAS, which was suitable to be installed only on servers trusted by the European Commission. The new authentication method (based on Apache SHIRO) allows the system to be installed on any server.
- The Re3gistry now includes a new web application that provides a simple method (based on the JSON format) to set up and customise the service's web user interface (HTML representation).
- It is now possible to manually start the data export of the full content of the database from the Re3gistry administration interface
Questions, issues for discussions, bugs and suggestions for new features can be submitted in the issue tracker (https://ies-svn.jrc.ec.europa.eu/projects/registry-development/issues).
Thank you in advance for helping us improve the Re3gistry software.

Dear discovery service contact points, MIG representatives and NCP’s,
we would like to inform you about a number of changes in how we develop / maintain the INSPIRE geoportal (including its harvesting and validation components) and how we communicate with Member States about any questions or issues related to the harvesting and validation of metadata form the discovery services in the Member States.
In the past, the INSPIRE validator, which is operated as part of the Geoportal harvester, was updated whenever new issues were identified or when the time schedule of the legal obligations required this.
In order to guarantee a more stable behaviour over longer time periods, we decided to switch to a managed release cycle, accompanied by a clear list of the changes and by a timely communication before the release. Relevant communications will be published through the MIG collaboration space, and contact points will receive an automatic update e-mail (see below).
In order to streamline and keep better track of the communication between the geoportal team and the contact points for the discovery services in the Member States, we will start using a dedicated project on the MIG collaboration space (including a wiki, issue tracker and news section) as the main communication channel instead of e-mail. The project will be private and will be open to all registered discovery service contact points as well as interested INSPIRE NCPs or MIG representatives.
In order to get access to this Geoportal project on the MIG collaboration space, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have never used the MIG collaboration space for other projects, please also send us your ECAS login.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
The JRC INSPIRE team.
We are happy to announce a new candidate release of the INSPIRE registry and registers. The new candidate release contains two additional registers with the layers and enumerations defined in the INSPIRE implementing rules on interoperability of spatial data sets and services as well as an updated HTML user interface.
Before officially publishing these, we would like to invite you to participate in the testing of both the content and new user interface of the service.
Instructions for testing as well as the draft documentation for the new INSPIRE registry service are available in a specific sub-project in the MIG collaboration space.
The testing will run until Monday, 30 November 2015.
If you are interested in testing new release candidates of the software or service, please register in the MIG collaboration space and send an e-mail to email@example.com.
Questions, issues for discussions, bugs and suggestions for new features can be submitted in the issue tracker. Note that in order to submit new issues, you have to be signed into the collaboration space and have been assigned to the testing project. Please also check the existing issues before submitting a new issue.
Thanks in advance for helping us improve the INSPIRE registry and registers as well as the Re3gistry software.
The JRC Registry Team
