Validation reports now feature a metadata compliance meter.
This indicator shows how complete a metadata document, or group of documents, is with respect to the INSPIRE Metadata Implementing Rules, the Network Service Regulation and the Technical Guidance documents.
The indicators also include colour clues (red = less than 90% of the required elements are present, yellow = more than 90%, green = 100%):
Method of calculation¶
When a metadata document is validated, a weight is associated to each required element.
If a required element is not found, it is removed from the list.
At the end of the validation process the weight associated to the required element that were found to be present is divided by the total possible weight.
For example, if in a metadata document, one out of 10 required metadata elements is missing or is not compliant with the requirements, the indicator will show 90% or less, depending on the importance of the weight of the missing element with respect to the other.
Currently, all required elements have weight = 1.
Availability of the indicator¶The indicator is displayed in validation reports at different levels:
- single resource
- discovery service
- INSPIRE Geoportal
